The Deputy Team Leader will have for main duties : assisting the Team Leader with project planning and coordination, overseeing field activities and teams, and ensuring community participation. The role also involves M&E support, regular reporting, organizing training for staff and partners, and contributing to budget and resource management, all while ensuring quality and compliance with regulations. He will also have to supervise field teams and provide technical guidance to technical assistants (irrigation, agriculture, value chains).
His role requires a Master’s in agriculture or related, plus 10 years’ experience including three rural development projects. Strong skills in innovative cropping systems, design, and implementation are essential, alongside familiarity with agro-ecology, conservation agriculture, and capacity building. Experience in irrigated agriculture and participatory land use planning is needed, as is English fluency.
