The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) has been registered as an independent International INGO in Lao PDR since 1992 with a core focus to assist the most vulnerable by alleviating poverty through community driven development projects. ADRA Laos is connected to the ADRA Network which has over 115 offices worldwide. ADRA Lao PDR is seeking to recruit 1 position: a Natural Resource Management Officer for our Kham office, Xiengkhouang Province. ADRA has been awarded a Nature-Based Social Inclusive Livelihood and Climate Action (NaBCAP) project funded by ADRA Australia. The overall objective is that vulnerable farming communities have sustainable economic growth, environmental protection, resilience to climate change, and increased well-being in Kham District.
Position Summary – Natural Resource Management Officer
The Natural Resource Management Officer (NRM officer) is working in the Nature-Based Social Inclusive Livelihood and Climate Action Project (NaBCAP) team and has specific duties and responsibilities to initiate, train, and overseeing the NRM project activity implementation (including forestry). The NRM Officer is working with other team members in selected villages of the Kham district, Xiengkhouang province.
Key Selection Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management, Forestry, Agriculture, or relevant field of study.
- Demonstrated professional experience of at least 3 years as a project officer on international development programs applying technical expertise and experience in NRM (including forestry).
- Demonstrated good communication skills and displays team spirit while interacting with co-workers, supervisors, and project implementing partners.
- Ability to work independently, plan, prioritize, solve problems, and make responsible decisions in the assigned space.
- Fluent in Lao language; Khmu or Hmong language skills are an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs.
