Notice of Recruitment – Lao National Staff

The Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) is a Norwegian humanitarian organization supporting capacity building and development in many countries and has been engaged in UXO clearance in Laos since 1997. The strategic goal of the programme is to reduce the humanitarian and socio-economic threat posed by unexploded ordnance (UXO). NPA Lao PDR is regulated by the National Regulatory Authority (NRA) for the UXO Sector. The programme currently has more than 1,000 staff and receives funding from the United States Department of State (USDoS), and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD). The NPA Lao PDR program is now seeking a qualified, enthusiastic, experienced, and well-motivated person for the following position:

Logistic Assistant: 2 x Positions (base in Pakse office)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Take delivery of all incoming materials and reconcile them with purchase orders
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all requisitions, receipts, issuance, and final destination (PR, GRN, GIN, BIN CARD & TDI)
  • Manage inventory/supplies and ensure they are within the established minimum and maximum levels
  • Responsible for packing, unpacking, labeling, and returning supplies
  • Responsible for stock rotation and coordinating the disposal of surpluses
  • Ensure creating the internal coding and tagging of all NPA assets
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date inventories of any stock held and replenish and distribute in line with the program’s requirements.
  • Pick up and drop off goods between the NPA Pakse office and domestic transport companies.
  • Report to the immediate his/her supervisor regularly.

Qualifications Required:

  • Higher Diploma or higher
  • Ability to communicate in written and spoken English
  • Good working experience with computers, proficient with MS Windows and Office applications

Desirable:

  • Driving license (class AB is a minimum required)
