Job Summary:
The Communications Assistant for CRS Laos works closely with the Communications Manager to support and coordinate, assist with product content, and monitor CRS social media platforms, particularly Laos Country Program (FB) page to ensure strategic alignment of communication, consistent messaging, and strong brand identity. The Communications Assistant also provides support to coordinate communication activities including producing communication materials to support the Communications Manager. This includes stories, multimedia, and reports, as well as ensuring CRS compliance with donor branding and marking requirements.
Roles and Key Responsibilities
Assist to create, draft the content topics/stock content for Facebook page. Manage, monitor and interreact with the page.
- Assist to establish and maintain relationships with local media and help identify opportunities to reach key audiences.
- Coordinate freelancers and internal team on the production of marketing materials as needed such as photos, videos, etc…
- Work closely with program team, especially Field Officers, for Country Programs content to use in communication materials and MEAL unit to get relevant data.
- Assist Operation Programs and Country Programs team to produce some creative material as need.
- Assist to write, design, and manage the production of creative and compelling communication and marketing material –stories, photos, video, fact sheets, brochures, etc. – for various audiences, including public and private donors, local and national governments, partners, media, and others as needed.
- Assist to support the creation of processes, manuals and trainings for Country Program staff and partners on issues related to communications, marketing, and media created for the development of the Country Program.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in social media design, communications, multi-media design, or related studies; experience in INGOs is helpful.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully disseminating information to a variety of target audiences.
- Ability and desire to work well with diverse employees and customers in a cooperative and friendly manner.
- Having a work experience with Marketing, Social Media systems will be well-regarded,
- Additional education may substitute for some experience.
- Computer skills required and Experience in Adobe Creative Suite such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign or in Canva is strongly desired.
- Highly proficiency in social media applications and experience in content production.
- Excellent interpersonal or teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to create clear, concise, and engaging content.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, content management systems, and graphic design software.
