The Organization
The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) is an INGO with an active global network in more than 115 countries around the world. As part of the global network, ADRA Lao PDR is working in rural communities in the sectors of Livelihoods, Agriculture, Health, and Climate Change Mitigation. As times of crisis, ADRA is responding to disasters through the Network support and in close collaboration with local authorities. Since 1992, ADRA Laos has implemented over 150 projects in 13 provinces.
ADRA has been awarded an Integrated Nutrition and Health Initiative for Mokmai (INHIM) project which is funded by Canadian Foodgrains Bank. The overall objective of the project is to improve the inclusive nutrition and health status and achieve greater well-being of vulnerable groups in selected villages in the Mokmai district.
Position Summary – an Agriculture Officer
The Agriculture Officer performs a variety of technical and administrative functions including implementation and co-ordination of the project’s cultivation and livestock activities; partner and government relations; project reporting; networking; and monitoring and evaluation.
Key Selection Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Cultivation, Livestock, rural development, or relevant field of study.
- Demonstrated professional experience of at least 3 years as a project officer on international development programs applying technical expertise and experience in the field of work.
- Demonstrated good communication skills and displays team spirit while interacting with co-workers, supervisors, and project implementing partners.
- Ability to work independently, plan, prioritize, solve problems, and make responsible decisions in the assigned space.
- Fluent in Lao language; Khmu or Hmong language skills are an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software program.
