Let’s build a world for children
A world in which we all treat each other with respect and appreciation. A peaceful world where communities have learned to resolve conflicts constructively. A world in which children are strong and develop in a self-determined manner. In which they have opportunities and rights and can exercise them. Children should be able to acquire knowledge and skills and make their own experiences – we support them in this worldwide.
The Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation is a unique Swiss non-profit organisation based in Trogen, Switzerland. We are committed to create access to quality education for all children and young people in Switzerland and worldwide. The implementation of the Convention of the Rights of the Child forms the framework of our projects. The Children’s Village is a place of encounter and the heart of our foundation. In Laos, PCF works with government and local partner organisations to enable children to access quality education in primary schools, particularly ethnolinguistic minority children in remote areas.
PCF currently works with local partner organisations of Luang Namtha Teacher Training College (LNTTC) and Life Skills Development Association (LSDA) in enhancing early childhood and primary education focusing on Green & Clean School approach, literacy and numeracy. In supporting its local partner organisations, an integrated participatory approach–Intercultural Education and Participatory Learning and Action have been adopted and routinely apply to the whole project cycle: planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
