Description

PACTEC International in Laos is an NGO working in Vientiane at the Wattay Airport with the Department of Civil Aviation and the Civil Aviation Training Center to continue establishing a flight training school and other aviation services in Laos. We are looking for 1 full time entry level administrative assistant and teacher’s aid (Lao national only) to assist the Head of English Training and English instructors with administrative tasks and in-classroom support. You will work in a team, reporting to the Head of English Training.

Contract Duration:

1 year (with 2-month probation); contract to be extended subject to satisfactory performance.

Additional Information

English Admin Key Responsibilities: (85%)

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Head of English Training
  • Manage student records, databases, attendance, and test results
  • Prepare and maintain official communications and documents in English and Lao
  • Coordinate class schedules, calendars, and training activities
  • Support teachers with class materials and online/remote class delivery
  • Handle logistics and coordination, including travel, invoicing documentation, and certificates

Teacher’s Aid Key Responsibilities: (15%)

  • Provide in-class support, including Lao language assistance, test invigilation, and student guidance
  • Assist students with instructions, activities, exercises, and basic engagement monitoring
  • Support virtual and hybrid classes, including setup and management of online platforms
  • Set up, operate, and maintain classroom and audio-visual equipment, including class recordings

Suitable candidates will have:

  • Good communication (Lao and English) and interpersonal skills (working in a team)
  • Diploma or degree in English, business administration, or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, typing and email
  • Confidence engaging with students in group and classroom settings
  • Willingness to learn new skills
