Description

Humana People to People, Laos (HPPL) addresses a range of pressing social issues and needs in the thematic areas of health, disease prevention, community development, food security, agriculture and climate change mitigation and adaptation. Since its establishment, Humana People to People Laos has built up a network of partners and supporters across multilateral institutions, international foundations, civil society, and the private sector.

HPP Laos has an opening for the following position:

Senior Partnership Officer 

HPP Laos intends to recruit a Senior Partnership Officer in our office in Vientiane, whose main function is to identify new opportunities for funding and create a suitable match between HPPL’s program portfolio and the principles and requirements of the donors (national and foreign entities, governmental and non-governmental entities and the private sector).

Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities for funding on various platforms where donors advertise, summarize the opportunities and make recommendations to office management
  • Create and pursue funding opportunities through meetings with potential partners/donors and through networking with government, businesses and organizations
  • Research potential donors’ focus and priorities and other issues involved with the aim of creating innovative and sound initial project ideas and concepts to the office team
  • Work closely with the team’s proposal writers to continue developing the project proposal when need arises, including further research and consultations with government partners, donors and consortium members
  • Maintain good contact to the organization’s donors and project consortium partners during proposal development and project implementation
  • Be responsible for the organization’s active attendance in Laotian public and private fora to build strong networks and increase visibility
  • Liaise with government offices on behalf of the organization to ensure permits, good cooperation and goodwill
  • Occasionally provide oral and written translations from Lao to English and vice versa
  • Stay tuned and make sure to be updated on project performance and policies

Qualifications and experiences:

  • University degree in Development Management, Social Sciences or other relevant areas;
  • 5 years of proven experience within the profession;
  • Work experience in international organizations is an advantage;
  • Excellent ability to speak, write and edit documents in English;
  • Strong command of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet search engines;

  • Strong people skills and approachable manner;
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programmes;
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to change;

  • Ability and will to travel, to work under pressure and extra hours when necessary, and to meet deadlines.
