Description
GRET, CCL and Helvetas are recruiting an Export and Logistics Advisor based in Vientiane Capital, to join the IP-Tea Team under the GreenCUP Project. The position is part-time for a duration of 11 months within 3 years of project implementation (June 2025-September 2028).
The technical assistance team, led by GRET, supports the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF), Department of Agriculture (DoA), in implementing the GreenCUP project, financed by the European Union and AFD. This project aims to enhance the development of the tea sector through agro-ecological community-based action, climate-resilient and inclusive value chains with a gender and human rights-approach. The GreenCUP project is part of the Team Europe Partnership with Lao PDR to increase sustainable and inclusive trade, investment and recognition of producers’ practices. The project is implemented in 3 provinces in Northern Laos, such as Bokeo, Phongsaly and Xiengkhuang.
Position Export and Logistics Advisor Schedule 11 months in 3 years

Main Duties
The Export and Logistics Advisor will be in charge of supporting the project, specifically KE 3 and KE 2, with the export of tea and tea products to international destinations at national and local level, the advice on export standards, preparation of export documents, dealing with custom authorities and will focus on:
SC 3.2.: Promoted higher value and enhanced quality tea in Northern Laos (appr. 1-2 months)
- Capacity Building
- Support the development of training material and mapping where needed in the candidate’s field of expertise
- Support training and capacity building measures to stakeholders at national and local levels, from government and private sector and from communities in the field of expertise (i.e (but not only) export, logistics, export documentation, preparation, legal requirements, procedures etc), market requirements etc
- Support tea producers on export and logistics (appr. 7.5-8.5 months)
- Support the cooperatives in Meung, Nyord Ou and Phongsaly who have existing contracts with European buyers to prepare export and export documentation and logistics needed for export to Europe
- Support KE 4 during the negotiation with potential new buyers on contract development, export conditions and conditions on requirements for international standards (in cooperation with SE 1)
- Implement trainings, where needed, on international standards and quality assurance where relevant for export and in cooperation with SE 1
- Chinese tea market: support stakeholder dialogue, market access and favorable export conditions for Lao tea to China, also in cooperation with SE 1 and KE 4 nat.
- European and Western tea market: support export to European Union and other buyers in the Western Tea Market
SC 4.2. Improved tea governance and recognition of quality labels (appr. 1 month)
- Together with SE 1, support the dissemination of key knowledge on trade and business conditions with a decision-making tool and trainings through workshops at multi-stakeholder level to foster informed and evidence-based decision and policy-making, in cooperation with MoIC
- Support mapping and assessment of existing service providers for export and logistic services in Lao PDR (BSOs)
SC 1.3.: Development of business opportunities for income generating-crops (appr. 0.5 months)
- In cooperation with the SE 1 on tea value chain governance, the SE 2 can facilitate export and logistics for potential other cash crops than tea produced in the target areas.
The Export and Logistics Advisor will start in November 2025, as a part-time job (11 months, in 3.5 years). He\She will be part of the Technical Assistance (TA) team. She\he will be supervised by the CTA of the project. He\She will be based in Vientiane with frequent travel to the target provinces Bokeo, Xiengkhuang and Phongsaly.
Qualifications
- MSc. Decree in finance, business management and international relations or a related field
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Lao
- Proficiency on Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power point, etc…)
- Relevant professional experiences in shipping and logistics, especially outside of Lao PDR and to EU
- Working experience in managing foreign trade (experience in agri-food value chains is preferred);
- Relevant work experience in capacity building, trainings, coaching, especially with communities
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and monitor work plans, training plans and monitoring and evaluation plans;
- Demonstrates a high level of skills on problem solving, time management, accuracy, attention to details, and computer competences.
- At least 10 years of experience working with INGOs and international organisations in the agricultural sector
