Training of Trainers for Gender Base Violence (GBV) training material

Invitation to

Training of Trainers for Gender Base Violence (GBV) training material

on December 26th to 30th ,  2018

Background:

SCI Laos is developing the Adolescent Initiative, a 3.5-year program designed to holistically address the needs of adolescents and young people, primarily ethnic minorities, in rural, mountainous regions of Laos.  Adolescents and young women are critical to SCI’s three breakthroughs: Learn, Survive and Be Protected—as both children and young parents. In the framework of the Adolescent Initiative, Faculty of Social Sciences, National University of Laos (FSS-NUOL) Represented by Division of Social Work and Community Development, and Save the Children International to implement “Comprehensive Programming to Address and Respond to Gender-based Violence in Laos and Nepal Initiative”, aim to increase local and national capacities to tackle gender based violence against adolescents and young women. National capacities will be improved by working with LWU and the NUOL, revising the gender curriculum for social work students in order to improve the skills and capacities of a dedicated workforce to prevent and respond to GBV. Local capacities will be improved by creating a curriculum targeting adolescent boys and girls, young women and men and their communities who will be supported to identify causes and drivers of GBV and to find local solutions to decrease it.
