Biomedical engineer/technician (Lao national)

Duties and responsibilities

The Biomedical technician is responsible for evaluating, maintaining and repairing the biomedical equipment within the Lao Friends Hospital for Children (LFHC).

Areas of duties and responsibilities/accountabilities

·         Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of biomedical equipment.

·         Conduct routine quality assurance checks of biomedical equipment

·         Report faulty equipment and liaise with suppliers and repair centers to fix the equipment.

·         Teach medical and nursing staff as to the proper use and care of biomedical equipment

·         To advise upon new equipment purchases with respect to their care and maintenance


A graduate qualification in Engineering with desirable competences in electricity, electronic and pneumatic

Skills Knowledge and Experience

·         Excellent learning and adaptation skills

·         Self-motivated and able to work independently.

·         Experience in biomedical engineering.

·         Excellent analytical and problem solving and organizational skills.

·         Good English communication skills.
